How to Level Up Quickly in Vampyr

Four basic ways to gaint experience points in the game, their advantages and disadvantages, and what they are used for

In Vampyr, experience points are used to improve Jonathan by gaining new abilities. The latter fall into several groups. Each ability has 5 levels and 2 branches: for example, one branch reduces cooldown and efficiency, whereas another extends cooldown and increases efficiency.

How to Level Up Quickly in Vampyr-1

There are 4 basic ways to get experience points:

  1. Killing enemies. You'll get experience points for every killed enemy, but in this case, it will be only 5-10 XP per one of them. Bosses cost rather more XP.
  2. Secondary activities. You'll receive some experience points for a number of different activities. For instance, searching for various notes, hints for dialogues with citizens and successful conversations.
  3. Completing quests and investigations is the best and the only effective way to level up Jonathan for those who don't want to kill citizens. You'll get from 100 to 500 experience points per each quest. Considering that every task is accompanied by additional actions, the number of XP will be adequate to upgrade the character.
  4. Murdering of citizens. The number of experience points received by killing citizens depends on the quality of blood. You can improve the quality of blood if you heal up the character and find necessary hints. Besides, after finding some of them you'll have to choose a correct dialogue phrase as well. Choosing the wrong phrase results in the hint doesn't work and the quality of blood doesn't improve.

To drain blood out of the character, you should mesmerize him. For successful enchantment casting, Jonathan’s «Mesmerize» ability level should be at the same (or higher) level as the target has. The ability levels up as the story progresses.
