How to activate the console

You can activate the console in Stellaris by pressing Shift+2, ALT+2+1, Shift+3 or "~". You can also press Shift+Alt+C. Many commands require double use to turn them back on or back off. For this purpose you can press up and down keys to navigate through already executed commands. Pressing Tab with most of the commands that require a name or an ID will reveal a list of names or IDs that can be used with this command.

  • activate_all_traditions — Activates all traditions
  • activate_ascension_perk <name> — Activates the specified ascension perk
  • activate_tradition <name> — Activates the specified tradition
  • add_anomaly <name> — Adds the specified anomaly to the selected planet
  • add_opinion <source> <target> <value> — Increases the opinion of the <source> empire on the <target> empire by the specified value
  • add_ship <name> — Creates a ship with the specified design
  • add_trait_leader <ID> <trait> — Adds the specified trait to the leader with the specified ID
  • add_trait_species <ID> <trait> — Adds the specified trait to the species with the specified ID
  • ai — Enables or Disables the AI
  • alloys <value> — Adds the specified amount of Alloys
  • berserk_ai — Sets AI aggression to 10
  • branchoffice — Gives the player an ownership of planet branch office
  • build_pops <value> — Adds the specified amount of robot pops to the selected planet
  • cash <value> — Gives the specified amount of Energy Credits to the player
  • colonize <ID> — Starts the colonization of the selected planet using a copy of the pop with the specified ID
  • contact — Enables contact with all empires
  • create_megastructure <ID> — Creates a Megastructure using the specified ID in the current system
  • create_navy <value> — Creates a fleet with your most recent design that uses the specified amount of Naval Capacity (1=100%)
  • damage <value> — Does the specified amount of damage to the selected ship
  • debug_nomen — AI empires will always refuse player's proposals
  • debug_yesmen — AI empires will always accept player's proposals
  • effect add_building = <ID> — Adds a building with the specified Id to the selected celestial body
  • effect add_deposit = <ID> — Adds a deposit with the specified ID to the selected celestial body
  • effect shift_ethic = <ID> — Shifts ethics of the player's empire to ethics with the specified ID
  • engineering <value> — Gives the specified amount of Engineering tech points
  • event <ID> — Executes an event with the specified ID
  • fast_forward <value> — Goes through the specified amount of days
  • finish_research — Finishes all active research
  • finish_special_projects — Finishes all special projects
  • finish_terraform — Finishes all terraforming processes
  • food <value> — Gives the specified amount of food
  • force_integrate <ID> — Integrates the empire with the specified ID into the player's empire
  • free_government — Enables or Disables the player's ability to change governments without the time limit
  • free_policies — Enables or Disables the player's ability to change policies without any restrictions
  • grow_pops <value> — Adds the specified amount of growing pops to the selected planet
  • help <command> — Shows the information about the specified command
  • influence <value> — Gives the specified amount of influence
  • instant_build — Enables or Disables instant construction and upgrades. (This also applies to the enemy AI, so only use it while paused)
  • intel — Reveals the entire galaxy and disables first contact
  • invincible — Player's ships will become invincible
  • kill_country — Kills current country
  • kill_leader <ID> — Kills a leader with the specified ID
  • kill_pop <ID> — Kills population with the specified ID
  • kill_ruler — Kills current ruler
  • max_resources — Fills all resource storages
  • minerals <value> — Gives the specified amount of minerals
  • observe — Switches player to observer mode. Use "play" command to turn it off. (Do not use while unpaused. If you do, the AI will take over the player's empire)
  • own — Gives player the ownership of the selected fleet, starbase or planet
  • physics <value> — Gives the specified amount of Physics tech points
  • planet_class <name> — Changes the class of the specified planet to the selected planet class
  • planet_happiness <value> — Adds a modifier with the selected amount of happiness to the selected planet
  • planet_size <value> — Changes the size of the selected planet to the specified size (Maximum value is 78)
  • play <ID> — Switches the player's control to the empire with the specified ID
  • populate — Fills all Housing on the selected planet with pops
  • remove_trait_leader <ID> <trait> — Removes the specified trait form the leader with the specified ID
  • remove_trait_species <ID> <trait> — Removes the specified trait from the species with the specified ID
  • research_all_technologies [1] [any number] — Instantly researches all non-repeatable technologies. To research creature and crisis technologies as well, add [1]. To research repeatable technologies, add [any number]
  • research_technology <ID> — Instantly researches the technology with the specified ID
  • resource <value> — Gives the specified amount of resource
  • skills <value> — Gives the specified amount of skill levels to all leaders under player's control
  • society <value> — Gives the specified amount of Society tech points
  • unity <value> — Gives the specified amount of Unity
  • unlock_edicts — Unlocks all edicts
  • war <ID> <ID> <war goal> — First country with the specified ID declares war on the second country with the specified ID with the given war goal
