How to activate the console

Rust has a built-in developer console that you can access by pressing F1. You should be aware that as the game changes and progresses the commands and their functionality can change as well, so it will take a bit of figuring out first to use them properly.

List of useful console commands

  • censornudity [0/1] — Shows or censors nudity
  • disconnect — Disconnects you from the server
  • fps.limit <value> — Sets a FPS limit (Setting -1 as a value will disable FPS limit)
  • perf 1 — Shows FPS
  • perf 2 — Shows FPS and RAM usage
  • kill — Kills the player instantly
  • client.connect <IP> — Connects you to a server with the specified IP (Useful if you can't find needed server in the server list)
  • server.seed — Shows the map seed for the server you are currently on
  • streamermode [0/1] — Disables or Enables streamer mode. This will randomize any player or server names to help streamers avoid being stream sniped
  • moderatorid <SteamID> — Gives the player with the specified steam ID full access to admin commands (Can only be used by admins)
  • kick <name> — Kicks a player with the specified name (Can only be used by admins)
  • banid <SteamID> — Bans a player with the specified steam ID (Can only be used by admins)
  • status — Shows all players who are on the current server, as well as their names and Steam IDs (Can only be used by admins)
  • inventory.give <item> <value> — Gives you the specified amount of the specified item (Can only be used by admins)
  • say <message> — Sends the specified message to all players from the server (Can only be used by admins)
  • server.globalchat [0/1] — Disables or Enables the close proximity chat, which will allow players to see chat messages only if they are near the player who sent it (Can only be used by admins)
  • env.time [0-24] — Sets the time to the specified hour (Can only be used by admins)
  • teleport <name> — Teleports you to the specified player (Can only be used by admins)
  • noclip — Enables or Disables the NoClip mode (Can only be used by admins)
  • debugcamera — Enables or Disables Debug mode (Can only be used by admins)
  • weather.fog <value> — Sets the fog chance to the specified value from 0 to 1 (Can only be used by admins)
  • weather.fog <value> — Sets the rain chance to the specified value from 0 to 1 (Can only be used by admins)
