All three endings of Life is Strange 2 Episode 2 and the ways of getting them

Index

Spoiler alert!

Overall, there are three endings in the second episode of Life is Strange 2, which can be divided into bad, good and the best ones. Now you’ll learn the difference between the endings and how to get them.

What affects the ending you get?

There are two conditions that determine the ending of the episode, but both of them have some gray areas and open questions.

Condition 1: Daniel has or hasn’t told Chris the truth about his superpowers.

You make your main choice after you come to the Christmas market. Sean can ask Daniel to tell Chris the truth about superpowers, or insist on keeping the secret. As for the second variant, the boy wouldn’t mind giving his friend a snow job, but the first one has some ins and outs.

Daniel might deceive his brother by not keeping his promise of talking to Chris. Even after the fourth attempt, we still don’t realize how to achieve a positive outcome. Wish Life is Strange 2 had a flowchart like Detroit: Become Human has. Sean should obviously earn Daniel’s respect, but we’re not aware of the methods.

You can get to know whether Daniel told Chris the truth after they come back home. Sean will ask his brother: ‘’Did you set things straight with him? Told him the truth?’’ If Daniel answers just ‘’Yeah, yeah, I did...’’ – he lies. But if he adds ‘’He was disappointed...’’, there must be the best ending.

Condition 2: Sean encouraged Daniel to use his powers, or disapproved of his tricks.

How to Save Chris and Get All Endings in Life is Strange 2 Episode 2: Rules -2

It’s not that simple with the second condition. It may seem that if you don’t allow your brother to use his superpowers during the whole game, he won’t save Chris at the end of the episode. We have a strong feeling that it doesn’t matter whether you allow or forbid anything the entire episode; the ending only depends on the last choice – save your granddad with superpowers or without using them. Of course, we aren’t 100% sure as we’re not aware of the game’s internal logic.

Bad ending – Chris gets hit by a car

Conditions:

– Daniel didn’t tell Chris the truth about superpowers;

– Sean didn’t encourage Daniel to use his powers / dragged Stephen from under the closet without using superpowers.

The boys sneak outside. They are spotted by a police officer who starts to follow them by car. At this point, Chris runs onto the road and, being completely certain that he has superpowers, tries to stop the car with mind power. Daniel doesn’t do anything because his brother has forbidden to use the powers. The boy is hit by the car to death. The brothers run away powerless to help their friend.

Good ending – Daniel saves Chris

Conditions:

– Daniel didn’t tell Chris the truth about superpowers;

– Sean encouraged Daniel to use his superpowers / dragged Stephen from under the closet using superpowers.

How to Save Chris and Get All Endings in Life is Strange 2 Episode 2: Rules -4

Just like in the bad ending, the boys will sneak outside, a police officer will spot them, and Chris will run onto the road to save his friends. Daniel has been using his powers all the time, so he will immediately throw a moving car off. Chris will turn back to look at the brothers and realize that it is his friend who has superpowers. The boys will leave the scene at once.

The best ending – Chris helped the brothers escape

Conditions:

– Daniel tells Chris the truth about superpowers.

The brothers run out of the house and meet Chris. He probably went to the backyard after being upset about not having superpowers. He gives Daniel the Captain Spirit cape and calls him a real superhero. Then he points a short way through the forest and says goodbye. Sean and Daniel hide from police.

This ending is the most difficult to get since it’s still uncertain how to make Daniel tell Chris the truth.

See the decisions we made to get this ending:

  • You threw a snowball at Daniel.
  • You intervened and scared the cougar off.
  • You prayed together with Claire and Daniel.
  • You pretended you didn’t know anything.
  • You helped with extra chores.
  • You reminded Daniel of the rules after he saved Chris.
  • You used Stephen’s laptop to log into your profile.
  • You couldn’t talk to Lyla and lied to her mother.
  • You gained Chris’s trust and got him to open up about his father.
  • You told Daniel to stop lying to Chris about his power.
  • You listened to Cassidy’s song until the end.
  • You didn’t draw for Chris.
  • You stole a Christmas present for Daniel.
  • You didn’t get involved in Charles’s problems.
  • You chose to pull Stephen out together and injured his leg.
  • The cop didn’t chase you and Chris helped you escape.
  • Daniel did not continue to swear.
  • Daniel lost the dice game.
  • Daniel didn’t kill the cougar.
  • Daniel was not able to bury Mushroom.
  • Daniel agreed to pray.
  • Daniel didn’t want to tidy the room.
  • Daniel obeyed and told Chris the truth about his power.
  • Overall, Daniel was repressed from using his power.
  • Daniel didn’t have to save Chris.
  • Daniel didn’t blame anyone since Chris was fine.
  • Daniel enjoyed his early Christmas presents.

Regardless of Chris’s fate, the brothers will get to the railroad and jump onto the railcar. This will be the end of Episode 2 of Life is Strange 2.
