Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Full Walkthrough: Home is Where my Mother is
Having secured the island of Naxos from Paros invaders, the main character of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is finally ready to return to Sparta which has been long abandoned by his mother. The characters hope to clean their homeland of the king-cultist which became known thanks to Aspasia’s translation skills.
Home Sweet Home
Having upgraded your character after the end of the previous chapter – don’t go to Lakonia until your hero reaches the 30th level – go to the village of Gytheion, where Myrrine is already waiting for Alexios/Kassandra. You can get to your goal through Korinthia, as well as by the sea from Paros or Thera (the closest storyline islands).
Having landed on the shore, talk to your mother – she will stand near the pier. Choose any options in the dialogue with her as they will not affect the development of the storyline. Having decided on your attitude to your father (if you have already visited him) and your return to Sparta, call Phobos – a horse ride awaits you.
Follow Myrrine on a horse until she stops at a cliff. After talking with your mother about the past, the hero will notice that Spartan youth below the hill will soon be torn apart by wolves. According to Myrrine, that’s how warriors are made, so you should not help them.
If you still decide to come to the rescue, get ready for the battle against several aggressive enemies at once. Having killed them – use dodging and Flaming Attacks – talk to the wounded. You can’t save him, so you can calm him down a bit by pretending you are his parent.
Next, a real relative will come and accuse you of deliberately weakening Spartan children. The situation will be resolved by the timely intervention from Myrrine, so you will not have to fight against the relatives of the deceased. However, the main hero will learn an important lesson – you cannot break Spartan laws.
Get back on your horse and go to the town to your old house. Due to the time that has passed and the accident on Mount Taygetos, the building is owned by the state, so neither Alexios/Kassandra nor Myrrine have any rights on it. After the war, the estate will be transferred to Stentor, Nikolaos’ adopted son.
According to Brasidas who has just joined the conversation, the heroes can return their rights if Spartan kings make them citizens again. It will be easier to achieve it if, before visiting the rulers, Alexios/Kassandra complete two tasks of state importance.
However, this is for the next mission. The current quest will be completed together with the conversation, and you will get several hundred drachmas and a rare staff.
Kings of Sparta
This mission assumes that you complete two side tasks – Bully The Bullies and One Bad Spartan Spoils The Bunch. Theoretically, you can come empty-handed to Spartan kings, but in this case, you’ll have to complete three assignments instead of two before Myrrine’s family gets its citizenship back.
Having completed both side quests (more on them in the Lakonia walkthrough) or having ignored them, find Brasidas – he is waiting for the main character near the throne room – and go inside with him and his mother. No matter how you convince Pausanias and Archidamos (these are the names of the rulers), they won’t take your arguments.
To return his estate, Alexios/Kassandra needs to complete two/three assignments of the Spartan kings:
- Secure Sparta’s power in Boeotia – a problematic region between Attika and Phokis.
- Accompany the local champion to the Olympic Games in Elis and win there.
- Kill the legendary Lykaon Wolf that lives on the Dioskouroi Peninsula in the nearby. You’ll have to complete this quest only if you haven’t completed two additional quests before the meeting with Archidamos and Pausanias.
At the end of the meeting, Myrrine and Brasidas will share their plans. Both of them are heading to the neighboring Arkadia to hunt down another member of Kosmos Cult. The hero will also take part in this adventure, but in the following chapters. For the completion of this mission, you’ll get rare boot stuff in addition to usual perks.
