Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Full Walkthrough: Prologue
Assassin's Creed Odyssey does not start with the presentation of the main hero (or heroine). Instead, it begins with the Battle of Thermopylae, in which the Greek army confronted the army of the Persian King Xerxes in 480 BC. During the prologue, the player controls the Spartan King Leonidas (yes, that very famous character).
Following a motivating speech in front of the warriors and a brief brawl with the Persians, the control of the hero will be given to the player. There’ll be a real chaos around, with Persians and Greeks mixed together, but at this stage, your task is to simply master the basics of the local combat system.
The game will teach you how to deliver a light blow and how to use special abilities – in this case, Bull Rush. When this skill is used, the protagonist places a weapon in front of him and rushes forward, dealing two and a half times more damage than in a typical attack.
Enemies on the battlefield deal minimal damage to Leonidas, so don’t hesitate to experiment with the available skills. You can’t kill all the Persians – don’t even try this – so, having mastered your skills, go to the cliff which is highlighted by the marker. There, a serious opponent is waiting for the hero.
At the end of the cutscene, Leonidas will find himself facing a Persian warrior named Kurush. Fix the camera on the enemy to start a battle. The enemy protects himself with a shield. At this stage, you need to deliver a strong blow to break through this shield.
Bypass the defense of the enemy and go on the offensive – use both attack options (light and heavy) as well as special skills. Don’t forget to dodge – Kurush is slow but knows how to fight with his pole-ax so better avoid it.
This advice is especially useful for moments when the opponent lights up in red – this means that he prepares an attack that you will not be able to block. The only reasonable action in such situations is to dodge. The further away you are from him (clamp the dodge button), the better.
Once Kurush falls, you’ll see another cutscene – the Persians have heard about a ‘’path in the mountains’’ and prepare for a full-scale offensive. King Leonidas is not frightened by this news, but you will not be told about the further development of the confrontation – the game’s action transfers to present days.
The Odyssey introduces players to the modern world and the former Abstergo employee Layla Hassan who, after a long search, found a piece of King Leonidas’ spear. Once in the Animus, the machine for reading the human genetic memory, you can choose the basic parameters of the game.
First, you need to choose a difficulty level. Just like all other settings (except for the choice of the main character), it can be changed at any time. For the first time, we advise you to set the difficulty to normal. If you later find that the Odyssey is too easy, you will always be able to switch the difficulty to higher levels.
We should also choose the game mode: Guided Mode includes all the standard marks and hints that are not found in the Exploration Mode, where you will have to manually search for the next target, guided by the instructions given by other characters. In this walkthrough, we used the Exploration Mode.
Finally, the user will be asked to choose a protagonist. There are two options – a man Alexios and a woman Kassandra. There are no gameplay and storyline differences between them, so choose the character you like most. After you have chosen the character that will become the hero of your Odyssey, the first real mission will begin.
