Remedy Details Upcoming Control Content

One of the two big expansions is hinting at Alan Wake crossover

Developers of Control revealed a full roadmap for the game’s upcoming updates. It looks like fans of the title will have enough reasons to keep Control installed on their gaming platforms until the second half of 2020.

Remedy Details Upcoming Control Content-1

Here’s what’s coming to the game in the next year:

  • Fall 2019 — a photo mode.
  • December 2019 — a new game mode called Expeditions, which will be unlocked after a player completes the main story. In Expeditions, Jessie will help the Bureau’s Security Chef defeat some tough enemies.
  • Early 2020 — the first DLC, The Foundation, will reveal more backstory of The Oldest House.
  • Mid-2020 — the second (and last, for now) DLC AWE will take Jesse into a new part of the Oldest House called the Investigations Sector, which is described as the place where the Bureau examines Altered World Events (AWEs). Interestingly, the teaser image of this DLC actually resembles the key art of Alan Wake. It’s hard to see if the mysterious figure in the picture is actually the famous fictional writer. However, there are plenty of references suggesting that the events of Alan Wake actually take place in the same universe with Control.
Remedy Details Upcoming Control Content-2

Seems like Remedy might be preparing fans for an imminent return of the Alan Wake series. Recently, the company retrieved rights to this IP.

It’s still possible that Remedy just misleads players into believing that Alan Wake will return, so we’ll have to wait until 2020 to find out if these hopes won’t go to waste.

Control is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The DLCs will be exclusive for PlayStation 4 players for some time after their release.
