21 Best Cosplay Sets of Summer 2019
A collection of the best cosplay works released this summer: characters from The Witcher, World of Warcraft, Dark Souls, Resident Evil 4, and many other franchises
Vicont Duke as Rachel from Blade Runner
In the cosplay world, characters from a recent sequel are getting much more attention. But a cosplayer, known by a nickname Vicont Duke, decided to bring to life the image of Rachel from the original 1982 film as Blade Runner is one of Vicont Duke's favorite movies. She decided to make this cosplay because people noticed her resemblance to actress Sean Young. To recreate Rachel’s costume, she had to revise the film many times, study the designer's sketches and photographs from a museum.

Asya Mitina in the image of Isabela from Dragon Age II
Captain Isabela can be found even in Dragon Age: Origins, but she got much more attention in the second part of the series. Even though Isabela’s costume looks simple at first glance, video game artists couldn’t have imagined how hard it would be to recreate their designs in real life. However, the challenge didn’t scare Asya Mitina. Her costume consists of 18 different parts, and to put it on a figure of a particular cosplayer is not an easy task.

AGFlower and ksyders in a photoset based on DC Comics
In a comic book Batman vol.3 #50, Batman and Catwoman’s wedding was about to take place. At the last moment, however, Selina Kyle changed her mind. According to her friend Holly Robinson, happy Bruce Wayne will no longer want to be Batman. Cosplayers ksyders and AGFlower showed what a wedding between the world’s greatest detective and his charming girlfriend could be like.

Aurora as Leia from Star Wars
Aurora introduced a cosplay of Princess Leia from Star Wars. We already featured the first work in this image in 20 Best Cosplay Sets of Spring 2019. But if that photoset was a cross-fandom between Star Wars and classic steampunk, then here everything is according to Lucas' vision. Even at school, Aurora’s classmate noted that she looks like Leia. Then they laughed and forgot it. But when she started getting into cosplay, she remembered that remark.
As Aurora said, it was scary to work on the image of the princess because this is a cult character exclusively associated with Carrie Fisher.

Photoset based on Mortal Kombat
Anya iChios and LeiRadna presented a photoset based on Mortal Kombat 11 in the images of Jade and Skarlet. Anya considers Jade her favorite character in the Mortal Kombat universe, an island of reason in this crazy fictional world. In addition, iChios really likes the emerald color. LeiRadna, on the other hand, chose a red Skarlet’s skin called Kold War, which was an exclusive bonus included in the Russian pre-order edition of Mortal Kombat 11.

Denis Gusev in a photoset based on Days Gone
Among cosplay based on this game, we want to note the work of Denis Gusev. Together with Masha Zhelnova and a photographer Aku, they recreated the world of Days Gone in this cosplay set. Denis put a lot of thought and attention to details in the costume: many parts of it were 3D-printed, while all the temporary tattoos are exact copies of the in-game designs.
Teo and Vikki Lix in a cosplay based on Dark Souls 3
In the cosplay world, Dark Souls is getting enough attention, but specifically, the Twin Princes are a rare sight. However, it was the images of two brothers Lothric and Lorian that cosplayers known as Vikki Lix and Teo decided to bring to life. Lorian’s costume turned out to be so complicated that it took the cosplayer a whole year to create it. Moreover, the outfits had to be not only made but also aged so that they look authentic.

Fenix Fatalist as female Dante from Devil May Cry 3
We want to bring attention to an unusual look at the beloved character made by Fenix Fatalist. The cosplayer and a big Devil May Cry fan introduced a fem-version of Dante. Previously, she spent 6 months to recreate the image of Vergil for her husband — that was the moment when she decided to make another cosplay for herself.

Photoset based on X-Men
Dark Phoenix is the last mutant movie to be released by 20th Century Fox. Soon, X-Men will become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and a big question is whether you’ll like the new look of your favorite characters. Ksenia Rogutenok's work reminds us what the canonical X-Men from the classic Marvel comics look like.
GraysonFin as Leon Scott Kennedy from Resident Evil 4
You could already see GraysonFin in the image of Leon in the article 26 Best Cosplay of Winter 2019. Back then, he portrayed the main character of Resident Evil 2 Remake — the cosplayer first sympathized with the hero in his childhood when the original RE2 came out. In this set, he plays out the events of the fourth game in the series.

Photoset based on characters from The Witcher novels
LadyBell and Danko decided to bring to life the images of sorceresses from the Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels. The photoset shows preparations for the battle at the Sodden Hill and the early stage of the battle. No, this is not a fight between Triss and Yen that was shown in our exclusive photoset.

Narga in the image of Sally Whitemane from World of Warcraft
Narga is remembered by many for the image of Jaina from World of Warcraft. We included her in the article about the most authentic female cosplay. In July of this year, the cosplayer published a photoset in the image of High Inquisitor Sally Whitemane. She is one of the bosses in World of Warcraft.

Erika Solovey and her Nissa from Magic: The Gathering
Erika Solovey introduced a cosplay of Nissa Revane from Magic: The Gathering. The cosplayer often spends time with this card game, and the image of the elf is closer to her than any other character. The photoset could have turned out to be even more varied and more colorful if it were not for the security who forbade walking on the lawn and approaching ivy trees.

Oichi in the image of 2B from Nier: Automata
We want to draw your attention to Oichi’s cosplay of 2B. Many pieces fell into right place here — a charismatic cosplayer, a high-quality authentic costume, the skill of photography and retouch.

Keyvei in the image of Ellie from The Last of Us: Part Two
Keyvei, who is a big fan of the first game, got inspired by a gameplay trailer to play out adventures of grown-up Ellie.

GraysonFin as Geralt
More than four years have passed since The Witcher 3 was released, but new cosplay sets based on the game are released every week. Among them, there are both fan-service and authentic works that are very close to the characters from the game. This cosplay by GraysonFin falls into the last category

Lera Himera in the image of Black Widow
In the latest Marvel movies, Black Widow is no longer perceived as a sex symbol of the franchise. Lera Himera decided to remind how gorgeous Natasha Romanoff looked in the first Avengers movie. Lera herself likes the image of Natasha from the first Marvel films because it’s as close to comics as possible. This photoset, like many other Himera’s works, has an erotic continuation. Only subscribers of her Patreon can see it.

Doppler from The Witcher universe by Fragaria Zefir
If you played The Witcher games or read the original books, you probably heard about dopplers. These creatures can copy other people, mimicking their appearance, character, habits and even clothes. They were hunted like other magical creatures. However, according to the photographer Ksenia Rogutenok’s idea, you can find a live doppler in Novigrad’s brothels. Of course, such valuable and dangerous "girls" were shown only to the most reliable and beloved customers…
Cosplayer Fragaria Zefir showed an intimate meeting with the doppler. The view from the eyes of a happy customer.
Photoset based on the seventh season of Game of Thrones
Misha Selgis and Olya Bony recreated a sensual scene from the last episode of the seventh season of Game of Thrones. There, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen had a spark between them that developed into a romance. Costumes were made even before the release of the last series, with leaked photographs from the shootings as a reference. As a result, some details of clothes and underwear had to be altered several times again.

Katerina Knyazeva in the image of V from Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt RED games are fantastically popular in the cosplay world. Even Cyberpunk 2077, a game that is still months away from its release, already inspires dozens of works in the images of various characters. As part of this article, we want to bring attention to Katerina Knyazeva’s cosplay of V. Interestingly, the backlight on the collar turned out to be “gluttonous”, and batteries had to be changed several times. In addition, during the night shooting, she attracted numerous insects. Is there an implant repellent in a futuristic world?

Vixena Siren as Ashe from Overwatch
Among numerous works of this summer, Vixena Siren’s cosplay stands out. The cosplayer always liked the Overwatch universe, but couldn’t choose a character for a cosplay… Until she saw Ashe. Vixena Siren also graced the cover of this article.
