Rumor: Capcom Is Teasing Devil May Cry Announcement
It might be revealed at Gamescom 2019
There was a special surprise for Devil May Cry fans at Anime Festival Orlando 2019, which was held from August 9 to 11 in Florida.
At the end of a panel with voice actors of Devil May Cry 5, Dante’s voice in the game Reuben Langdon asked everyone in the audience to stop filming:
I'm gonna have to ask you put your cellphones away. I know, please. I've got permission from Capcom to show this to you, guys, exclusively here.
Fans caught that intriguing moment on camera at 45:02 timestamp — you can check out the video of the full panel below:
Whatever happened next is under NDA right now, so nobody can legally say what was shown on a screen. Dan Southworth, who voiced Vergil in DMC 5, confirmed that he can’t reveal contents of the video until its officially released by Capcom.
Gamers speculate that it will turn out to be either a DLC for DMC 5 or a new game in the series. The former seems to be more likely since Devil May Cry 5 just got released this year and it will be way too early to reveal a next chapter of the franchise.
However, the devs previously stated that they have no intention to release DLCs for DMC 5 aside from The Bloody Palace. Back in April, the game’s producer Matthew Walker said that "dev on DMC5 is finished".
There is a hope that we will see Capcom’s mysterious announcement very soon. The company will be a part of the Gamescom 2019 opening show that will take place on August 19.
