No Man's Sky Beyond Gets New Trailer and Release Date
A massive update will launch this August
Hello Games released a short video that reveals the release date for No Man’s Sky Beyond update — it will be available on August 14.
Check out the trailer below:
Hello Games considers the Beyond update to be three major updates rolled into one.
The first part of it contains full-fledged multiplayer and social features. Even though the devs won’t reveal how exactly any of this will work, the fact is that No Man’s Sky is finally getting something that was promised many years ago — a possibility to play with others.
A creator of the game and Hello Games’ head Sean Murray previously explained multiplayer functions to Polygon:
It includes a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together. Whilst this brings people together like never before, and has many recognizable online elements, we don’t considerNo Man’s Skyto be an MMO. It won’t require a subscription, won’t contain micro-transactions, and will be free for all existing players.
The second big thing in Beyond is an addition of full VR support to No Man’s Sky. Players will be able to experience the whole game in VR and even join their non-VR friends in multiplayer.
The third part of the update is still a complete mystery — the devs will probably talk about it in the next two weeks or save it for a surprise until the update’s launch.
Beyond will be completely free for anyone who owns No Man’s Sky on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
