Mike Pondsmith Will Appear in Cyberpunk 2077
"I have a role," says the creator of the Cyberpunk universe
Michael Alyn Pondsmith, the designer of a tabletop RPG Cyberpunk 2020 that Cyberpunk 2077 is based on, will appear in the CD Projekt RED upcoming game as one of its characters. Mike revealed this himself in the recent issue of Xbox: The Official Magazine.
He said that he originally had another role in Cyberpunk 2077, but plans have changed:
I actually recorded for one role, but they came up with a different one for me, but I can’t tell you much more than that. And I’m telling you that because there are a lot of fans who are going, "He better be in the game somewhere." So I’m in the game.
Even though he won’t reveal the role he’s playing, that didn’t stop Pondsmith from joking about the matter: "I’m figuring what happens is, you know, at some point, [Johnny Silverhand] is playing his guitar and I’ll come out and play my bass [laughs]."
Recently, CD Projekt RED showed a new gameplay demo to Polish press. The devs also released a photoset in collaboration with cosplayer Irina Meier, who brought the game’s main protagonist V to life with her latest work.
Cyberpunk 2077 will get a new public gameplay demo during PAX West 2019 in August, while the game’s release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is scheduled for April 16, 2020.
