Dutch actor Rutger Hauer died on July 19 at his home in the Netherlands after a short illness at the age of 75, Variety reports. Hauer’s agent Steve Kenis confirmed the news and revealed that he was buried this Wednesday.

Rutger Hauer became a legend among geek and cyberpunk lovers for his role in 1982 Blade Runner as Roy Batty, leader of a gang of outlaw replicants that oppose Harrison Ford’s character in the movie.

Hauer’s performance and his famous monologue as Roy Batty are remembered to this day:

Later, the actor appeared in two other well-known movies: as Cardinal Roark in Sin City and as the villain in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins.

Rutger Hauer is survived by his second wife of 50 years, Ineke ten Cate, and a daughter, actress Aysha Hauer.
