id Software Director Tim Willits is Leaving the Company After 24 Years of Work

Luckily, the studio’s current projects won’t be affected by his retirement

Long-time id Software studio director Tim Willits has revealed in a Twitter post that he’s leaving the company. He will step away after QuakeCon on July 28, but this won’t affect any current titles in the development.

The developer has been a part of id Software since 1995. He joined the company after impressing the studio founders with original Doom levels he created in spare time.

Willit’s portfolio also includes games like Quake, Rage, Doom 3 and Doom (2016). Doom Eternal, which is yet to be released, will be the last project he served as game director.

id Software veteran remains silent about his future plans.
