Black Mesa Xen Technical Beta Is Now Available

The owners of Black Mesa now have three new maps to play

Following the recent gameplay videos, The Crowbar Collective have released the beta version of Black Mesa: Xen, the second part of their Half-Life remake.

Check out the 2018 trailer below, if you missed it:

To participate in the beta, the copy of Black Mesa is required. If you don’t have the game on your Steam account already, you have to buy it — the game is currently on sale.

To activate beta, right-click on the game in your library and select Properties from the drop-down menu, then choose the beta tab. There you can sign up for the public beta. Black Mesa will download the update with beta content. After it’s done, you can select New Game and choose chapter 15 to start playing Xen levels.

This beta features three of the six maps that are currently being created for Xen, continuing Gordon’s adventure from the cliffhanger ending of Lambda Core.

The Crowbar Collective were saying that Black Mesa: Xen is "almost ready" since 2017, but the game still doesn’t have a release date. Still, the progress they made is pretty significant.
