Adventure Game Encodya Now Has a Demo

The point-and-click adventure game shows a life in a dystopian futuristic city

Encodya is a point-and-click adventure game that is being developed by Nicola Piovesan and Chaosmonger Studioю. It’s expected to release not sooner than in the second half of 2020, but you can already play the demo.

You can watch the trailer below:

Encodya tells a story about a young orphan Tina and her battle robot Sam-53. The girl lives in a dystopian futuristic world with the aesthetics of a typical cyberpunk city. The demo takes place the night before the main events of Encodya begin. It’s comparable to a pre-game tutorial and includes multiple self-aware jokes about being a videogame.

The gameplay is exactly what you can expect from its genre. You move from one screen to another and click on objects and characters on the screen to interact: examine, talk, pick up, or use them. The devs promise "dozens of characters" and "hundreds of puzzles" to solve. There are also tons of Easter eggs and hidden secrets to find. One of the greatest things about Encodya is that characters are fully voiced.

Encodya is based on an animated short called Robot Will Protect You, which is currently in the works, and it actually originates as one of the movie’s Kickstarter stretch goals.
