The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan Rated M by ESRB

Intense violence, deaths and drugs

The new game from the creators of a critically acclaimed horror Until Dawn is was given Mature rating by ESRB. Looks like The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is gonna be just as gruesome and violent as the studio’s previous game, if not more.

You can check out the trailer below:

There are many “suggestive themes in the game“ that involve a surprising amount of lines about drugs: “You know the size of my bank account is not in a competition with the size of your penis, right; “You gonna bring your bangstick". Someone amongst characters is an addict for sure: “Everybody flush their meth! We gotta get rid of all this meth!”. As you can expect at this point, there is also extensive use of words like “f**k” and “sh*t”.

The description of the most gruesome part of the game can be considered spoiler-filled because it’s about the fate of certain characters. Their deaths, to be precise.

Spoilers below:

The characters get shot in the head at close range; a man getting his ear cut off; a character stabbed in the chest with a knife; a corpse's body getting eaten by rats. Blood-splatter effects occur as characters are killed and/or injured; blood also appears on the ground and underneath bodies. Surely fans of Supermassive Games are getting used to this stuff.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan will release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 30. This game will be the first part of The Dark Pictures episodic series.
