Daedalic Entertainment's State of Mind Won ''Best Serious Game'' at German Video Games Awards

Daedalic Entertainment remains the most recognized studio with its 12th win

German Video Games Awards 2019 was held in Berlin on April 9. The event is focused on German gaming industry, meaning only local developers and publishers participate, and provides a prize pool of €590,000 to its winners. This time Daedalic Entertainment got another prestigious award with State of Mind — their futuristic thriller game.

State of Mind won ‘’Best Serious Game’’ award, which is dedicated to those titles that raise important problems and questions about the society, and try to be something more than just an entertaining experience.

This award also means the studio gets a €40,000 check to help their further development

State of Mind is set in an alternative dark version of the near future, and talks about some of the issues we might face in real life. Such include progress in artificial intelligence, robotics, cybertechnology and the position of human soul among all these developments.

State of Mind was released August 15, 2018 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The game received mixed reviews, averaging 67% on review aggregators such as OpenCritic.
