What's up With We Happy Few Season Pass: Current Status, Working Titles and Plot Theories
The release date of new DLC content for We Happy Few is still to be confirmed, so we look at the expansions in development to see what we can expect from the upcoming return to Wellington Wells
Season Pass for Compulsion Games’ antiutopian first-person action was announced alongside free Sandbox mode back in August 2018, listing three stories: ‘’Roger & James in: They Came From Below!’’, ‘’Lightbearer’’, and ‘’We All Fall Down’’.
According to the developers, this is new content which was planned, but its development started only after the game release. Initially, it was said to be released on December 7, with the date changed to March 31. However, as the developers say, this is just a placeholder date, so the release might come even later.
Please note that there may be spoilers below.
The first to be added, on October 30, was ‘’House Boys’’, which is nothing like the announced DLCs. One possible explanation is that ‘‘House Boys’’ goes for ‘‘Roger & James in: They Came From Below!’’, where two characters are mentioned, lovers Roger Bacon and James Maxwell. In ‘’They Came From Below’’, Roger and James will presumably leave the city as the DLC announcement says they ‘’set off in search of adventure and love’’, during which the two lovers discover something terrifying.
The developers shared in the recent update that ‘‘Roger & James in: They Came From Below!’’ is mostly content complete, and the expansion is now in the polishing stage. That said, we might soon discover if Roger and James are really those House Boys.
Another DLC, ‘‘Nick Lightbearer’’, is likely to be ‘‘Lightbearer’’, which is devoted to the supporting character met during ‘’The Church of Simon Says’’ quest.
The third DLC, ‘’We All Fall Down’’, is in the pre-production phase and has something to do with raising ghosts of the past. Although there are no files of a similar name, it could be ‘’Victoria’’, which was added on January 29. Given the fact that one of the main characters is Victoria Byng, the DLC might probably revolve around her.
As for Sandbox mode, the developers say that it’s in the final stages of tweaking and QA, and will be available in one of the upcoming major patches.
