Accomplished actor William Morgan Sheppard has passed away at the age of 86 due to natural causes. While he appeared on popular series such as Star Trek, Dr. Who, NCIS, and Mad Men, the British entertainer might be best known to gamers as the voice of the narrator in Civilization V. He’s also the father of Mark A. Sheppard, an actor who has appeared on Supernatural, Firefly, and the Battlestar Galactica reboot.

Despite film and television roles making up the bulk of his résumé, William Morgan Sheppard also had a lengthy career in video games. His first role came in the 1996 adventure game Zork Nemesis, where he played one of the four alchemists, and went on to voice Ignatius Cheese in Escape from Monkey Island. Sheppard also narrated the introductions and mission briefings in the first four Medal of Honor titles, and voiced a fictional version of United States President John Adams in the Wii first-person shooter, The Conduit.
